Surrounding the terminal are several bunkers, which presumably could be opened through some sort of code, possibly entered on the keyboard below the terminal. Some sheets of paper with writing on them sit on the floor to the left of the keyboard. Further to the left, there is a large cylindrical container with a lock protecting its precious contents. And mounted on the wall, lying on two hooks, is a mid-length spear, tipped with a red diamond shape. The defender stares at it, incredulous. He reaches a hand out and strokes the staff of the spear. He grabs it.
A Defender, reunited with his spear.
As he takes it, the hooks slide into the wall. A switch is activated. The door slides shut. It resists any effort. The floor slides upwards like a lift towards the ceiling, stopping at the pointed top of the building. The Defender lifts himself from cowering on the floor of the room and looks toward the terminal. The girl still stands there, facing the sprite.
The Defender walks toward the terminal and begins typing into the terminal.
Hey, girl.
You.
One tip about that guy.
He's not me.
We now see Dream Fred sitting in his room in Derse. The Black Queen has apparently left; she is nowhere to be seen.
>Dream Fred: sneak in a stealthy way to another tower.
Fred floats out his window carefully, watching steadily for any carapaces. There are none. Derse is completely silent. There is no sound whatsoever. The dark planets floats through the Furtherst Ring in utter quiet. Fred reaches Max's tower. Max is sleeping there, just as usual. Some of Fred's blood drips next to his bed. He hears a sound behind him. A carapace climbs through the window wearing a blindfold. He sits on the floor next to Fred.
"Hello, Heir," he says.
"Hello," Fred replies.
"It's strange, this war between Derse and Prospit. Derse always knows it must win, that Prospit is fighting a losing battle."
"Mmm."
"Derse is always so confident, so arrogant in it's attacks. It knows it will win."
"Unless we do."
"Yes. But Derse's weakness is this: it ignores the possibility of Prospit's victory."
"What possibility? Derse always wins."
"Maybe not this time, Heir. It is time for me to leave; I need to be there for the funeral."
The carapace stands, seemingly untroubled by its blindfold. He turns to Fred.
"Oh yes; take this."
He places his hand in Fred's, and climbs out the window. A shuttle flies off. Fred runs to the window and looks out.
"Funeral? What funeral?"
He drops the object the carapace gave him into a pocket without looking at it.
We now see Ryan looking on as Davina ducks a spearthrust from the DIGNITARYSPRITE. What will he do?
>Ryan: skillfully ignore what is happening in front of you, and worry about other things
Ryan ignores the crisis. Davina can handle this sprite. Nothing bad can possibly happen.
His computer rings. Ryan answers.
YOUR BLOOD WILL SEEP INTO THE GUTTERS
SS: what?
YOUR HEART, BLOOD IT SPUTTERS
MY HAND WILL SLAY YOU, YOU WILL DIE
SS: what the hell is thid?
MY LAUGHS WILL ECHO INTO A FIERY SKY
YOUR SCREAMS WILL SOUND THROUGHOUT THE LANDS
AS I RAISE MY BLOODY HANDS
FIRE WILL BURN INTO YOUR SOUL
WHAT REMAINS OF YOU IS JUST A HOLE
SS: is thia a rap?
I HEAR YOUR CONFUSION
I WILL END YOUR DELUSION
THE END OF MY SECLUSION
WILL MARK YOUR DEATH.
SS: what the fudk
SS: what ius this?
SS: are you onr of suzy's friends?
The person, whoever it was, stops answering. Ryan frowns and looks back at Davina. The DIGNITARYSPRITE is pressing her, and there are some monsters approaching. Maybe he could prototype the sprite with something? There's some broken glass, a few MLP plushes and some dodgy romance novels. Anything else taht could be in Davina's house would be fair game, basically.
What does Ryan do?
Sorry for the hiatus. Got caught up in RL stuff. Holidays soon, so I can update more.
Ryan’s cursor hovers over the MLP plush. Prototyping it is the obvious thing to do. Elsewhere in paradox space, one thousand angels sing of this while dancing on the head of a pin. Gods and demons call out this decision. It could be life-changing. The obvious thing to do might not be correct. Whether or not Ryan obeys the voices in his head could change history, could bend reality. Who knows what the consequences of this decision could be?
Ryan throws the plush at the sprite. It flashes and transforms.
Apparently the consequences of such an action are creating a hideous monstrosity that no human should ever lay eyes upon.
The DIGNITARYSPRITE flails desperately, shouting and lashing out with its new soft plush hooves. A pink mane grows along its back. Ryan looks in horror.
The DIGNIPONYSPRITE is created.
Static flashes across the screen for a moment as it roars. The screen flickers, then displays Suzy as she looks in horror at the crater that used to be her computer. She swats at a pair of black claws as they scrabble at her windowsill, and knocks the imp backwards. Her phone rings from her pocket.
Suzy grabs her phone from her pocket. Max is calling her. She brings it to her ear.
“Suzy. What the hell happened?”
“My computer blew up.”
“What? Blew up? What happened?”
“It started glowing green, with this electric stuff coming from it, then it blew up.”
“Are you alright?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. Don’t have a computer, though, and –“
An explosion rocks Suzy’s house as a meteor smashes into the ground nearby.
“That about sums up the rest of it,” she said.
Max hissed.
“You need to get to a computer as quickly as possible.”
“On it.”
Suzy looks out her window. There are several undisturbed houses nearby, as well as a library and a café.
Suzy checks her sylladex. She has a CHISEL (2+2+1+2+1+2=10=0), a BOOK ABOUT WIZARDS (2+1+1+2+1+2+1+1+2+2+1+2+1+2+2+2=25=5) and a CRUSHING IMPLEMENT (2+2+1+2+2+1+2+2+1+2+2+2+1+2+1+2+2=29=9) (a mallet). They’re all in her hashmap modus sylladex. There’s very little there that’s useful. Suzy sighs. One of the nearby houses explodes in a mess of fiery rock and white device parts. Suzy ducks as a burning cruxite dowel flies through her window, hitting her shelf on which she kept pictures of “The Dave” and setting fire to it. Suzy looks on in despair as her favorite photo crinkles in the flames. There is probably something ironic about this. But it is lost in the sadness of a teenage girl who has lost her celebrity crush.
We now see Daniel standing on the roof of the orphanage, facing a CASHMERE OGRE. The bully stands net to him, fists raised. He leaps at the ogre and roars.
“Wait-“
The ogre swings its fist and backhands the bully. He goes flying and hits a cashmere outcrop.
“Fuck.”
Daniel blasts the ogre with his hose. It shakes the water off it ad points its left hand at Daniel, which holds a gun. It fires.
What will Daniel do?
So, I'm on holidays now, which means more updates. However, I have exams coming up, which means study, which means hiatus. It won't happen for at least a week and a half, but its shadow now hangs over this adventure. It is coming.
Daniel leaps to the side. The gun blows a hole in the roof. The ogre grins, its tusks rising, and fires again. Daniel dodges again. The ogre roars and raises a fist to punch at Daniel, smashing it into the ground. Daniel covers his head and ducks. The DUTTLESPRITE appears in front of him and unleashes a wave of orange energy filled with squiddles, blowing the ogre away. Daniel looks up as the shadow disappears and grist rains upon his head. He sees the DUTTLESPRITE raises a tentacle and points towards the stairs before disappearing.
Daniel hauls himself to his feet and looks at the stairs. He frowns. He could go down there, but there’s still the bully to find. What was that guy’s name again, anyway?
Re: Law of Seven - Act 2 (Why can't I come up with creative subtitles?)
>Daniel: get down those stairs. If a duttle says to do it, you better do it. However, First fall into conflict about whether you should try to find the bully or not, then leave.
Re: Law of Seven - Act 2 (Why can't I come up with creative subtitles?)
Part 50
>Bully: be named David Gregerson
That’s right! That guy is called David. David Gregerson. His parents died from pneumonia or something like that.
>Daniel: get down those stairs. If a duttle says to do it, you better do it. However, first fall into conflict about whether you should try to find David or not, then leave.
Daniel looks over towards where David was knocked towards, then mutters, “He’ll be fine,” and walks over to the stairs. He walks down slowly. The hallway is quite dark, and Daniel can’t see the light switch anywhere. There’s some sort of dripping sound coming from the hallway ahead. He frowns, suddenly wondering where all the other orphans were. They should have been transported into the Medium. He steps forward and raises his lighter, flicking it on to provide some light.
Daniel takes another step, and his foot slides in some sort of sticky liquid. He lowers the lighter. The liquid is red. He wipes a finger across the floor and raises it towards his face.
Blood slides slowly down his hand. Daniel screams and shakes his hand wildly, attempting to get the blood away. He steps back and bumps into a short, deformed shape. A carapaced arm grabs him and pulls Daniel into darkness.
A character select screen appears. Six squares appear on the screen, showing every human character except Daniel. Next to these squares is an icon displaying the Dersian coat of arms.
Choose a selection.
Re: Law of Seven - Act 2 (Why can't I come up with creative subtitles?)
Part 51
>The Dersian symbol.
The purple coat of arms is selected.
We see the Archagent, Jack Noir, standing in front of the Black Queen, reclining on her throne, currently unprototyped. She wears the RING OF ORBS EIGHTFOLD on her finger. An argument is clearly taking place. Jack shouts, pulls out a knife, and leaps at the Queen. The Draconian Dignitary quickly grabs his arm and wrests the knife from his hand. The Queen laughs. She raises her hand, and the Dignitary hauls Jack from the room. The screen switches to a different scene.
Jack hacks down another Dersite with his knife. He kicks the body out of the way, then steps forward and stabs another. Blood spatters across his face. The Draconian Dignitary steps forwards, his spear lowered, his face set. Jack raises the knife and lunges. The Dignitary blocks with his spear, and jabs at Jack’s chest. Jack leaps back, then attacks again, kicking the Dignitary in the face and knocking him down. He raises the knife. The Dignitary lies helpless. Jack plunges the knife down, and stops, a millimeter from the Dignitary’s chest. He mutters to himself, then continues down the hall into the throne room. The Queen sits there upon the throne, still unprototyped, surrounded by guards carrying weapons. She is not amused. Jack smashes down the door, a trail of corpses behind him.
What does he do?
May not update tomorrow. Need to help with my younger brother's birthday party.
