I was able to rip and resize a car, and the cloning pad, right next to the test sprite from the first demo. I think the sizes are okay. The smaller car is just a thing to show how big the car was originally, it was the largest on that was fully onscreen. It would be best if we knew where to look and what was wrong with previous attempts.

Can't tell if this is directed at me. O_o
New signature cause I am single. It is more awesome, I promise.

Oh, I was talking about previous sprite rip attempts.

    Sorry for the confusion.

Hey everybody, sorry I haven't posted in awhile. My computer stopped working on Saturday, so I'll be online less frequently. I fortunately have the SBURB Machines Demo backed up on a USB, but not the Character Creator. It will be a couple of months before I can get my computer fixed and subsequently resume work on the Creator. I may also have to push back the release date for Machines if I don't get a chance to work on it soon. Bottom line, I can still work on this project (except for the Creator) at a slower pace. Expect a more in-depth post with replies and such soon.

    Re: GQ's SBURB Thread

Okay, so when I said "soon" I didn't intend to take two weeks to post again, but I've been busy with dreaded real-life stuff. Anyway, the deal right now is that SBURB is on hiatus until I can get my computer fixed. I'll have an opportunity to work on it some over Thanksgiving weekend, but that's about all I can do in the immediate future. I do promise that this project will not be abandoned, and nobody's work will go to waste. It's fine if anybody wants to keep posting sprites from the list, they just won't be implemented for a while. I'll still go ahead and put up the new sprite list just in case. As for this thread, I probably won't have a lot of time to go online. I'll check in once or twice a week when I can. Sorry about all that.

Ouch, hope you get your computer fixed.
Life without computers is horrible and I don't know how you're coping.

    Re: GQ's SBURB Thread

Hey guys. I managed to work a bit over Thanksgiving weekend. I didn't have any of the Machines or Creator stuff to work with, so I began a new demo. I made a Tumblr post about it and didn't have time to mention anything here. Basically it follows the Creator, beginning with a menu in which the player selects their interests, which then influences which objects fill their room. Rather than a generic character, this demo features John Egbert, and hopefully his movement is a bit better than in Alchemiter. If I'm able to work on it this month, I'll hopefully be able to release this demo before New Year's. If I have a lot of opportunity, I'll add in the rest of the house, which will be filled with objects that contrast to the player's interests. That's all I have to say for now.

Update: I'll be working on the new demo during the last week of the month and will hopefully post it then. I'll also update the OP as much as I can.

I wasn't sure which appearifier you were talking about.
Also I don't know which wizard statue you wanted since the main one is huge and rarely is in full view.
Could you also specify on what the unknown device should look like, as well as things we could do to check to see if the other sprites are the right sizes?

The sprite list has been in shambles for awhile. I'm going to update it as soon as I can with a new list, but for now I would advise ignoring it. As far as wizard statue, I meant Zazzerpan the Great, but I don't think he's ever in full view and to scale with the characters at the same time. The unknown device is probably impossible so I'm going to take it off the next list. And I honestly don't remember which appearifier I was refering to. The best way to see if sprites are the right size is to rip them from panels that also include characters in their sprite form.

Sorry it's been rather confusing. I'll update the sprite list when I resume work on New Demo, which is next week.

    Re: GQ's SBURB Thread

Alright, so the new sprite list is a bit different than usual. If it's at all possible, I'd like frames that go in between those of John running on the sheet below. His current running animation looks a bit awkward with only the frames provided there. https://www.dropbox.com/s/hpkcu5hhfe...hemization.png In the future I will ask for sprites of various clothing in running animations but I think John is a higher priority. As for rips, it would be nice to have the empty rooms of all the Beta kid's houses. I'll put this in the OP as well. I'm sure I'll have a more straightforward lis of needed sprites when I go back to the SBURB Machines Demo, but for now what I've put here will be more immediately helpful.

Well, New Demo isn't quite ready for release yet, but I did get a good bit done on it. I may have another chance to finish it midway through January, but I'm not sure how much time I'll have then. We'll see. In the meantime, the Demo will have more features if I am able to get the sprites on the new "list". Anyway that's it for now.

I'm pretty sure there are no in between frames for any of the characters running sprites, looking at what we have anyways.

The kids rooms will take a bit of small work. A PANEL LIKE THIS, has the right size keeping it here for my own reference. All panels ahead of that should get a good view of John's room, and the panel before it gives a good overall view for lines that can't be seen otherwise. I should be able to do something if I get the initiative.

There aren't really any running animations for clothes other than pants and sleeves, so I guess likely the four kids will do?

Oh, I meant that we're beginning custom sprites now. I'm still going to include rips on every list however(in this case the kids' rooms). I know these aren't the most exciting custom sprites but they're more immediately important. The exciting ones will come later.

So custom in betweens and animations? Sweet.
    I'll probably be working on and off though, if I can get working at all ;_;

I found this. Could be useful for sprite makers working on each clothing article's position.

The downloadlinks don't work, is this supposed to be this way?
Your chumhandle is chaoticThunder and you tend to type normal, but with lots of mistakes when typing fast.

I think the links on this thread are pretty out of date. Try the links here, and let me know if it still doesn't work. I'll make sure all the links work in both locations as soon as I can.

Well, here's New Demo. It doesn't have all the features I wanted, but they'll be in the next version. Next up is the next incarnation of the Character Creator. Along with fixing all the bugs from the last version, I'm totally redoing the interface. There will be a single menu, rather than a series of menues with no way to go back. And I haven't forgotten about SBURB Machines, I'm just taking a break from it.

I recommend that you upload the exe, not the code, or they can't use it if they haven't installed Game Maker.

Thank you for mentioning that. I totally forgot to make a .exe. Okay, well then it'll probably be a few more days before that legitmate release. Sorry about that.

Re: GQ's SBURB Thread--New Demo released!

Also, I have a small question.
Since I had to open the project in Game Maker to compile and try the demo, I had a look at the objects ... I hope you do not mind, it was pure programmer curiosity. And I noticed that you're mainly using the Drag and Drop of Game Maker to program.
My little question: Do you know how to program in GML? Looking at the list of things expected from the first post, I think there are some things that would be a little complicated to do in Drag and Drop.
