Growling in a low tone out of frustration at this point, Grigor continues trying to find the creature so he can break it in two. (So, more of the same really)

Guys c'mon.
You have turns to take!
I really should see about getting a new signature.
Nix lights the torch. It takes him a couple of seconds to do it blind, but he does it. While it is no help to him, everyone else (assuming they couldn't before) now sees the monster coming down from the wall next to the door and right behind Grigor about 3 yards away. Mizuki is near Grigor. William is about 8 yards away from the monster, still standing at the crystal ball in the middle of the room. Nix is about 7 yards from the monster, standing by the northern wall.
As the torch is lit, the monster lets out a hideous screech.
Yea, so.
We went to all that trouble to make functioning characters, and now noone can be bothered to post? Whyyyy
I'll go ahead and cast Soul Rider on my nearest ally.

Ivan tries for another attempt of Lightning.
Yep. I'm still here. If you want to keep doing this I do too. If you don't, I can go do something else. I have other irons that have yet to be put into the fire. They are cold and unshaped right now, but fully fire-bound. I have mistakes from this to learn from. If we keep going, I'm sure I have mistakes yet to be made and I'd love to learn from those too.
I can symphatize with that.
While i suspect you might realize, the most important thing is really kicking things off rather than sorts of slowly getting into it. its a question of handling player slack.

((Revival? I'm there! Well, here. Now, as opposed to earlier when I should've been but heeeey))
Grigor whirls around, growling now in a more satisfied manner, and charging it to attack it with his claws.
William takes his knife and stabs at the monster, aiming for any eyes or eye-like areas.
My Stuff:
Stuff I Like:
The monster steps toward Mizuki and claws at him. Mizuki cuts at the air, but the monster's claws slip through and cut Mizuki.
Mizuki swings in retaliation, slicing the monster's chest. Greenish-brown blood splatters on the ground.
Ivan begins a ritual and the tip of his finger begins to spark.
Grigor whirls around, steps up to the monster and tries to slice it with his claws, but misses.
William moves to enter the melee. He then steps up to the monster around Grigor, thrusts his knife at the monster's head and misses.
Nix begins to chant a ritual.
I'll continue what i were doing, moving towards where i hear Ivan. He is less likely to suddenly move around and stuff.

Ivan takes aim with the lightning and fires.
"I'll get you eventually! C'mere and get beaten!" Grigor yells, still trying to hit the monster with heavy-handed claw strikes.
William attempts to pummel the monster's soft parts with his brass knuckles.

I'd like to know how you guys feel about active defenses. In GURPS, you're actually supposed to indicate how you retaliate to an attack - block, parry, or dodge and you can step away if possible as well. What I was thinking was I'd PM anyone who gets attacked and tell them what's happened so far and have them reply with their defense. The other option would be to pretty much ignore this and have me just always have you use the best defense available. The down-side of that is sometimes you'd rather do one or the other depending on your situation. Maybe you're unarmed, but want to try parrying any way. Or your dodge is numerically better, but you want the advantages of the parry.
Well, having a choice is cool, i think, but i have no damn idea what the rules for parrying and dodging and such is and i really dont want to bother with more rules :c
