    Disney Movies Thread

Who wants go hurdling back-first into nostalgia? Decry inherent corporate hypocrisy? Shit on the new stuff? Praise the new stuff? Laugh at the old stuff? Let's see some opinion. Personally, my favorite would be lilo and stitch, and I'm hella pumped for the Oz the great and powerful.

This post used to say Alladin but I came back and changed it to Sleeping Beauty.

    Because, Maleficent.

Oh man, some of Disney's newer ones have been to die for. I was expecting Tangled to be lackluster and unoriginal but it totally blew me right out of the water. I want to see Brave so bad. I've heard it's a good movie but was somewhat of a letdown if you were expecting something as quality as, say, Up or Finding Nemo.

Also I don't know why everyone complains so much about Cars 2. Like it wasn't fantastic or anything but it was pretty cute!!

All-time favorites are definitely Oliver and Company, The Lion King, Lilo and Stitch and The Emperor's New Groove ♥♥♥

I think my favorite cartoon by Disney has to be The Lion King. Hot damn, I gotta watch that one again. I mean, I like Pixar's films much better than Disney's cartoons, but The Lion King has to be in my top tier, right on par with Wall-E and Up. The Hunchback of Notre Dame is kind of cool too, it'd probably be #1 if those damn gargoyles didn't annoy the hell out of me. Frollo, though? Hot damn, Frollo has got to be one of the most well conceived villains I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing.

Oddly enough, I can't tolerate Finding Nemo. It feels like I'm the only one in this category sometimes.

    Re: Disney Movies Thread

i've always liked the feel of disney movies way more than pixar, for whatever reason. i also can't seem to watch most pixar movies more than once every few years. but i can watch tangled or mulan or the lion king every freaking day.
actually i really did used to watch mulan every day. man that's a good one. especially the 'i'll make a man out of you' part.

as long as we're understanding that none of these are disney films we are ok

pixar is a seperately operated studio owned by disney but its films are no more disney films than ABC Family Original TV Movies are

or touchstone films are, for that matter

if Brave is a disney film than so is Rushmore

in any case: the best film walt disney animation studios have ever made is probably lilo and stitch. mulan, beauty and the beast, hercules and the emperor's new groove all come very close, though.

pixar's best is obviously ratatouille. everything else is trying for second (and the incredibles is beating everything else down with a stick)

    Re: Disney Movies Thread

Disney has been entertaining the world for many years. They introduced their first animated movie, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" in 1923. Since then they have been cranking out classics that young and old enjoy year after year. Picking the top five of all time is no easy task, but I'll give it my best shot.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs -
    The Lion King -
    Beauty and the Beast -
    The Little Mermaid -
    Aladdin -

I just saw Wreck-It Ralph the other day and I have to say that it was really good! I loved the storyline and the characters. It really reminded me of Tron, mainly the whole going into the game/technology. It was a really cute, pretty funny movie.
