In the late 25th Century, now over 100 years ago, the Borg threat, among other factors, caused a unification of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. The Cardassians joined the Federation on Stardate 149203.55; March 15th, 2472. It had become a matter of their [The Cardassians'] survival against the Borg. Given the choice to join the Federation, or be assimilated by the Borg, they did not hesitate to apply for full federation membership. Of course, the Borg Assault of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants mysteriously ended in 2498, but by that point, the Romulans and the Cardassians had become accustomed to their newfound spatial freedom and peace in federation space, and neither terminated their memberships. Like the Romulans, however, they mostly serve in the Galactic Federation Military, not in Starfleet, and there are none that were assigned to serve aboard this ship. When you get off duty after first warp you can review the visual record of those events in your quarters.

The bartender leaves you to your own devices. You imbibe 5 more bottles of Synthahol, which were sitting on the counter. You feel a little Tipsy, but you know that it is only synthetic, and your judgement is not impaired. It isn't real alcohol, after all.
The current time is 22:15 hours; first warp is in 1 hour and 45 minutes. You can now return to Main Engineering or go to your Quarters. You are required to be on duty in 45 minutes.

You go to your quarters. Once inside, you immediately go over to the Replicator, which doubles as a quantum storage unit. The idea was pioneered by a Captain in the late 23rd Century, who figured out that it was possible to store matter as energy for extended periods of time. Of course, this takes an enormous amount of power to maintain, but power of that type is something that the U.S.S. New Haifa is not lacking. You bring up your inventory on the console. You can now deposit inventory items in Your PC (your punning ability drops to 92 for the reference).
It is now 25 minutes until you have to be on duty in Main Engineering. It is now 1 hour and 25 minutes from First Warp.
Sorry if my night updates are sporadic, or very light in animated content. My internet connection is REALLY unstable at night, and the 500-year temporal displacement doesn't help, so image uploads are about all my connection can withstand. For the time being, expect video updates to be more common in the mornings.

You receive a Can Of Coffee, double strong, double sweet. Cold. You really hate replicators and feel like they are out to get you.
After imbibing the can, you proceed to Main Engineering, where Commander Roen and 2 other members of the engineering staff check all systems and run diagnostics last minute, and wait for the order to engage the warp engines. It is now 1 hour before First Warp, and you are now on duty.

There will be a GIF image here in the near future, one of the New Haifa moving across the screen. My internet wouldn't allow for an upload of that image at this time.
Your current duties are to prepare for first warp. You can do this by running level 1, 2, or 3 diagnostics, double-checking the warp-core, and monitoring the information display-screens. When you are prepared, state the command ">New Haifa: Go into Warp". You are carrying Empty Plastic Bottles X 6, Empty Can, Old Clothing, Book.

You run a Level 1 Diagnostic. It appears that everything checks out fine, at least with the engines and the vital systems.
You continue to prepare for First Warp. You can now run a level 2 or 3 diagnostic, check the warp core, or examine the data output screens. First warp is scheduled in 10 minutes, however, you are now far enough away from Earth to risk going into warp early.

The warp core, upon examination, checks out fine. It's in a different power phase then it was earlier, but it should be, as you are preparing to travel faster than any other ship in the galaxy ever has outside of a trans-warp conduit.
One of my friends who follows this comic, said that I should include some historical background information for those who want to read it. It will be included exclusively in spoilers.
"In the year 2430, the Borg launched an offensive on the Alpha Quadrant. In order to get at assimilating the federation, their ultimate goal, they began attacking other Alpha Quadrant powers. One-by-one, each Alpha Quadrant power called for assistance from the Federation and most, beginning with the Romulan Star Empire, in 2435, even applied for membership; Little by little, the entire Alpha Quadrant, and much of the Beta Quadrant became Federation Space. As a result of the Borg Threat, a second fleet was established, purely for defense purposes; The United Federation of Planets, now the "Galactic Federation", formed the Galactic Federation Military. The GFM had a flagship, but all GFM ships answered to Starfleet Officers above their rank. With a new defense force formed, Starfleet became "the reserves", and also was able to focus more on exploration and scientific development, particularly of technologies such as the Trans-Warp Conduit, which had been a staple of Borg Travel for at least the past 100 years or so. In 2498, the Borg offensive mysteriously ended, giving rise to a period of unprecedented peace and cooperation in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. In 2596, a short auditory message was received from the Borg Collective, pleading "We require assistance". Our story begins in 2598. The U.S.S. New Haifa's first mission is into the Delta Quadrant."
There is a holiday from tonight until Tuesday night, so i will not be able to update until Tuesday night. I'm very much tempted to save the first warp until tuesday night, because having the first warp attempt take place, and then taking a 2 day break and not updating the events afterwards RIGHT AWAY is a cliffhanger that could drive away even the most adamant readers. The animation sequences from the first warp -and the incidents surrounding it - have been a lot of fun to make.

You go to the holodeck and request that the ship's computer sort out all programs that are sufficiently complex to serve the purpose of Saving the Ship. They are listed Below.
Select A Program to Run:
Waterworks
Homestuck
Pirates VS Ninjas
Problem Sleuth
Jailbreak
24th Century Galactic Historical Records
25th Century Galactic Historical Records
26th Century Galactic Historical Records
Select a Running Speed:
1 X 105
1 X 106
1 X 107
1 X 108
Re: The Intergalactic Adventures Of Susan David Kasparovski: A 26th Century 3D Advent
> Run 25th Century Galactic Historical Records at 1 x 108 See if you can queue the other programs as well.

You allocate the skill points.
You still have 2 (two) Tech Points to allocate.
Abilities to Increase: Flail Like a Fish (to Level 2) Trigger Happy(to Level 3) Enemy At The Gates(to Level 2)
Due to your increased intelligence stat, you can now Rewire the holodeck for maximum safety and maximum efficiency. Doing so will allow the ship to go to warp.

> First, Level Trigger Happy to level 3 and EATG to level 2, then Rewire that Holodeck.

Re: The Intergalactic Adventures Of Susan David Kasparovski: A 26th Century 3D Advent
Trigger Happy is now Level 3 Enemy At The Gates is now Level 2
With your newfound Intelligence you disassemble your Data Display Chip permanently losing all of the useless junk you'd accumulated. Using the components, you fabricate a Holographic Efficiency Modifier, which you install in the circuitry of the holodeck. This should allow the ship's computer to automatically reroute excess energy to more power-taxing systems, such as propulsion, phase stabilization and temporal transportation. You now need a new Data Display Chip. You can now Go To Warp.
The Observation Deck/Battle Bridge is now open, as are your Quarters, Main Engineering, and new areas Starboard Nacelle Engineering and Port Nacelle Engineering. You can Enter the Command ">New Haifa: Go Into Warp" from the Observation Deck/Battle Bridge or any of the Engineering Areas, you can also normally do it from the Main Bridge, however, it is currently off-limits. You can get a new Data Display Chip in your Quarters.

You return to Main Engineering. The following unessential dialogue may or may not have taken place:
DR: I see your idea worked. Any ideas about how to streamline the warp process and prevent this from happening again? SDK: Already taken care of, Ma'am. DR: ...How? SDK: I built a Holographic Efficiency Modifier from the components of my display chip. It should effectively dump excess energy back into propulsion, or into systems like quantum storage or temporal transportation; Systems that would be active during warp, and much more able to cope with power overload without causing a warp core breach. DR: ... Welcome to the Engineering Team, Mr. Kasparovski. I can assure you this will go on your permanent record as a citation of creative ingenuity and excellent problem solving.
You go to Warp 170. This is the fastest warp-drive travel ever achieved by a Federation Ship.
Bystander: Ogle bright flash
Project Aviv (the program which begot the New Haifa) was relatively hush-hush. In fact, only the constructors and crew-to-be knew about it. The fact that Sue got aboard - or even knew about the existence of the ship - is purely because he was specifically targeted as a candidate for the job. We assume he didn't find out at all, or if he did, not until much later.
>New Haifa: Come out of Warp (Auto-Command executed after 10 Seconds)
You come out of warp, having travelled approximately 75,000 Lightyears in under 10 seconds.
Red Alert! You find yourself in an... awkward position, face to face, nose to nose, with a fully armed, fully powered up Minotaur-Class Battlecruiser. It is roughly 50 or so times your total mass and size. You are now in command of the ship. All commands labeled NHC will be relayed to the crew as orders (for example, >NHC: Open Hailing Frequencies will be implemented by your communications officer on the bridge attempting to open a line of communication with the other ship, whereas >NHC: Engage Other Ship will be an order to your tactical officer to power up ship weapons - these are not the only 2 options) . All commands labeled CTB will be issued to Captain Thomas Browder (>CTB: leave the bridge will cause the Captain to leave the bridge in a time of crises, Something that usually ends badly), and all unlabeled commands will be issued to Sue David Kasparovski.

The Ares' Pride departed 12 hours before you and used a Trans-Warp Conduit to get to your current location. In the Conduit, and proceeding at Warp 9.5 afterwards, The Ares' Pride took all 12 hours, and arrived shortly before you did.
