Jameson reads 5% of his book on the way. He only manages to read 5% because he's walking the strange and warped halls of the webway at the same time, but nothing weird happens on the way so it's fine.

Shenni, Jameson, and Barton all arrive at the new area. They are not skilled or well-equipped enough to detect anything unless they venture inside.
(It would be best to have the stealthiest character lead the way, unless you have other really cool plans to try.)

Oren reads 10% more of the book. As far as he knows, this book is literally just about learning how to care for a naked mole rat. More then likely it was just for the experience points really, he doubted the information would come in very handy!

Arnold shifts through a pile of junk and luckily finds enough tiny packets of food in the pile to create 1 ration!
(It's best to ask what you're looking for when searching through piles. If you have the Luck skill you can find closer to what you want!)

The Stronghold has 20 Defense!

The junk piles are back at base. But you'll probably find some where-ever you are... You're outside a building right now, I believe? Because our home building is considered cleared already. Or maybe you're just investigating the rest of the building and it's overall pretty safe. I think it's a different place though.

Also, I'll find a naked mole rat some day and make use of the practical skills of this book, Rufus. I SWEAR IT TO BE TRUE.

Oren walks over to Arnold during a short break in reading and offers him a book to read.
"Hey, want to read either of these? I haven't gotten to them yet, but they look like self-help books, they might help out. Oh, and if you look through the piles again, can you keep a look out for a tech guide? I could try to speed read it and do something with these computer parts, maybe."
He then sits down and continues reading his book

'Jameson? Barton? You two stay behind me. I'll lead the way. I know how this works, so just listen to me, 'kay? I have a walkie-talkie and a flashlight with me. If there aren't much enemies, one or two or so, we'll attack them from behind. Otherwise, we'll return to the base. Take anything useful you find with you. Let's go. Quiet.'

Entire team is babies. Barton goes in first and stabs any fiend he sees.

Shenni trys to be a leader and sneak inside, but Barton decides to walk inside. He turns a corner and sees a room with three fiends inside!

The first is a Torturer Fiend - the most common and normal type of Fiend. They are just crazed humans, with Gray skin and Red eyes, armed with weapons. They are generally only about as strong as a regular human both physically and mentally.

The second two are both Thrasher Fiends. Twisted and mutated cats that are now as big as medium sized dogs, with long claws and savage teeth. They are often domesticated as pets by the more intelligent fiends.

The Torturer was armed with a lead pipe, and the two Thrasers were standing nearby him. They all turn and see Barton, and they all charge at him!

Oren reads +10% of his book.

Jameson can't search the piles, since he is out.

Arnold cant make a makeshift bomb, as he needs to be level 2 in the Chemical skill to make bombs.

The Stronghold has 20 Defense!

Barton does a side step around the charging Torture Fiend and makes a gaping slash on its back with his Shiv. You learn quickly behind bars that the one charging in headstrong always gets cut first.

This rule does not apply to Barton because fuck logic.

LUCKILY, Jameson is also nearby and helps Barton commit mass carnage against these fiends.
(Pocket Knife --> Stab Torture fiend since a shiv can't possibly finish the whole thing off. If it does (cuz, you know, "FUCK LOGIC") then attack one of the two other fiends).

Barton attempts his side-step move, and manages to stick the back of the fiend. The fiend screams in pain, and turns his pipe to the side, beating Barton over the head with it, dealing 4 damage.

Jameson runs up and stabs the Torturer fiend twice with his pocket knife. It gasps and falls over, defeated and bleeding out on the floor. However, the second Thrasher jumps on Jameson's back, clawing and biting for his throat! He takes 2 damage, with the Thrasher dangerously close to doing much worse damage!
Jameson's and Barton both gains +1 Experience!

Shenni, who was not seen as of yet, manages to sneak up on one of the Thrashers and get a stab in. The Thrashers howls, the knife getting stuck in the wound, dealing considerable damage, but it turns around, slashing Shenni with its claws! Shenni takes 3 damage, and is disarmed!

Arnold looks through a pile of junk and finds 5 rusty razor blades. Bummer. No doubt they could be used for something though.

Oren reads another +15% of his book. He's now at 60%. (Sorry, I didn't realize you had Academics 1. You will still get a special skill, but it will just be shitty.)
