Haunted - A test game [Game 1] SURF WITCH

Three normal humans have arrived to a house in the woods on the beach. Little do they know, that this night will be... spooky.

WHAT IS THIS
In this game, we will witness a conflict between humans and ghost. Or rather, we will test out a brand new system for this. Later, I'll intend incorporate this system into an actual multiplayer game, but even if that fails, we will get one for Pen & Paper ones.

HUMANS are... well, humans. They could be ordinary people, like Scared Teens or Skeptics, but some of them could be Mediums or Shamans.
GHOSTS are devious spirits who feed on human emotions. Not actually dead people, but they might have stolen memories of the deceased.

Spooky Tales
An emergent storyline. Both humans and ghosts should have a goal that they should try to fullfil for rewards. Humans might try to steal an ancient artifact, for example. Meanwhile, the Ghosts might want to prevent them from stealing the McGuffin. Or maybe they want them to steal the cursed thing, and have to herd the humans to (possibly cursed) item.

The Scales of Power
I would like to achieve some sort of balance between the two groups. I don't want the ghosts to become tyrannical overlords, nor do I want the humans to become a complete Ghostbuster Squadron. So the goal is to give the humans defenses without ruining the fun of the ghosts.

Humans will have Perks that shall aid them. For example, they can be Skeptics, Witches or Coward Teen With A Dog.
Ghosts will have Powers: unleash fire, rattle chains, try to lure them like a siren.

Fear System
Lets face it, "BOO" "You are now scared" wouldn't really terrify the players, however, the characters should act terrified. We have to work out a system of Fear Effects: little things based on your character's phobias and personality. These effects shouldn't ruin the fun of the players, instead they should make the story more interesting. Also, they should be easily cureable, be it by Alcohol or Teddy Bears.

Plasm
Plasm should be generated from the fear of humans, which will be used to Power Up the ghost. But how much should be generated? And how many powers can a ghost buy with that amount?

As you can see, there might be too many power slots, so we will merge a few of them where it makes sense, or throw out uninteresting ones. Cold, Wind and Unclean might disappear soon, since they are not too Versatile. Mischief might be merged with Possession, and renamed to something more suitable.

Benjamin Sparrow-Smith opens the door, like a champ. But as he steps on the porch, the Jack-o-lantern starts playing spooky music.
Sam Taylor rushes in and turns on the lights!

Galloglasses skulks over to the basement windows, kicking in one of them and entering.
"Now to flank this supernatural son of a bitch, St. Bartholomew's Church will pay a FORTUNE if I can recover whatever occult artifect is causing this. Or if its just a bog standard haunting probably just the usual fee for getting rid of it."

Galloglasses finds out that the window was not a basement window, just a pretty small one. He jumps into the arms of a teddy bear.
Sam turns on the TV. Spooky chains spook him in the face!

You hear a lady's voice coming from behind the door next to the TV!
"W- Who's out there? Somebody help me! A rude ghost trapped me back here! I need a brave, strong man or sexually ambiguous person to come rescue me! Please! Help!"

[Changed the colour of the walls, so it won't be the same as the darnkess]

"Lady! I'm afraid I must object to rescuing you on two points of contention!"

Gallo finds a terrifying deerghost growling at him!
