The official zodiac calendar was created like thousands of years ago or something and doesn't accurately reflect how the stars are positioned in the sky anymore.

Yeah. The problem is the precession of the equinoxes--the same thing that causes the pole star to change veeeeery slowly--which causes the sun to be in a different part of the sky (that is, passing over different stars) on a specific day of the year as years go by. It's a roughly-26,000 year cycle. Since the original zodiac was set about 3000 years ago, give or take, we've moved roughly 10% of the way around the cycle--so people born under one "traditional" sign are "truly" under a different sign because that's where the Sun was located when they were born.

More or less, if you had a line like the following:

Jan -- Feb -- Mar -- Apr -- May -- Jun -- July -- Aug -- Sep -- Oct -- Nov -- Dec

and then had a time-lapse display showing which constellation was associated with which part of the year, you'd see that the constellations 'drift' to the left (Westward on the actual celestial sphere) over time. This, however, is specific only to Western/Hellenistic astrology, which is "tropical" (fixed to the point of the vernal equinox)--the Eastern/Hindu astrology system is "sidereal," meaning it goes by what's actually in the sky on the day of your birth, with some minor adjustments. Both systems have advantages, if you believe in astrology. The sidereal system has more focus on "how the stars pull on you," or whatever the explanation for astrology is, while the tropical system allows for fixed days of the year associated with particular signs. (The reason I say sidereal is only "more" focus, rather than "accurate" focus, is that both systems cut the sky up into 12 equal-sized arcs of 30 degrees...when the constellations themselves do not equally divide the sky, so both systems are somewhat arbitrary anyway.)

I kinda knew this, or at least that of course this made up crap had to be off in some way, but I always thought everyone acknowledged that and kept the signs like that because meh traditions, also did they like officially change it? (since "new system" was mentioned?)

That'd be kinda big news I haven't heard of.

Cronus makes a good alarm clock. I'll just have to get multiple alternate versions because I'm sure that they'll wear out eventually with a constant punch to the face.

My alarm clock is kind of pointless since no matter what time I set it for, I always somehow wake up before it goes off.

Aranea would probably be a lot nicer in waking me up, but I don't think she'd actually ever get around to it. If the walkarounds are any indication, almost anything can be pushed to the back burner in favor of expositing to someone.
