There's a case coming up before the supreme court challenging the right of the American people to resell their own legally purchased property if the items in question were manufactured outside of the country (which means more or less every mass produced product on the market). If the courts side with the plaintiff it would make things like eBay, libraries, and even yard sales illegal.

This is AWFUL, I really hope it doesn't come to pass. I don't even live in the states, but this would probably affect me anyway, since I love buying used books off Amazon. Also I'm afraid this kind of bullshit might spread to other countries as well.

Hopefully they see how insane this is and nip in the bud. I mean it really is insane.

I actually checked up on the supreme court's page for it. They presented evidence back in December, so it hasn't been completely dismissed yet. :I
